We are Bill and Carla, the couple behind Lakeside Melodies. The first time we saw this place, we fell in love with it. The rolling green hills, beautiful Little Pleasant Lake, the peaceful creek and the two happy ducks living in it. We bought the place and renovated it into a resort, where we would like to stay ourselves. Our goal is to make our guests feel at home. Call us and we can tell you all about Lakeside Melodies.
Bill is a music fanatic. He's been active in music since he was twelve years old. He played drums since high school. Over 15 years ago he discovered a peculiar instrument: the hammered dulcimer. He has played nothing since and already recorded three cd's, performing frequently. In summer he plays outdoors at Lakeside Melodies, so lots of free concerts!

Other things you need to know about Bill and Carla? Bill works as a management consultant and Carla is a travel journalist, writer of books and magazines. She's Dutch, so for anyone who wants to practice Dutch or is dying to know more about wooden shoes, tulips and windmills, she's the one. Both are sportive people, love canoeing and biking, so ask them for the best routes in the River Country.
Renters of the Music Hall Cottage can also reserve the large banquet hall room for an additional fee. The banquet hall can not be rented separate from the cottage.
Seats maximum of 200 people with a large stage area in the front and a food counter in the back. The room is wired for a sound system that can be rented. This wide open room with wooden ceiling creates a nice atmosphere for music, family reunion dinners, dancing, with plenty of room for children to run around and play inside. The room is fully heated in the winters and air conditioned in the summers. Just behind the food counter is a kitchen with 3 sinks, refrigerator, and stove. See our Music Hall Cottage page for more details on the rest of the building.
Of course we want you to have the best vacation ever, but your fellow guests want the same. Lots of people come to Lakeside Melodies for the nice peaceful surroundings and tranquility. For that reason, we ask our guests to keep the volume of the CD/radio and television at a level that is not disturbing to other guests. After 10 pm, we kindly ask that you not make too much noise outside so that other guests may sleep.
Campfires are fun! Near our beach area you will find a large camp fire area. The Folk Cottage has its own camp fire ring. The camp fire spot near the beach is available to all our guests. You can ask Bill if there is any wood available, there might be some stacked next to the campfire area or you can pick up sticks in the woods. There is also firewood available for purchase in Three Rivers.
A few remarks:
The calendars below shows the nights that are reserved for the cottages. Give us a call if you see some open dates. We try to keep this as current as possible.
